"Trust the Chef"

We only offer one sitting called Trust the Chef, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We do not serve à la carte ever.

Trust the Chef is 3900 Baht per person, 10 courses of traditional Thai Cuisine. We ask all our guests to join us for sunset at The Gold Bar at 6pm. Please be aware that if you have not arrived by 6.15pm we may contact the people on our waiting list who may then be given priority over your reservation.

Dinner will be served in The Gallery Restaurant, when the Chef is ready, usually between 6.30pm and 7pm in a single sitting, maximum 7 tables or 18 guests. We introduce each course so we usually finish around 10pm. The presentation of the meal includes stories about history, culture and nutritional benefits of each course, and is delivered in English, so a good understanding of the English language is essential for your enjoyment, please keep this in mind before making an application. The introductions of each course are an important aspect of the evening, they not only provide context but also help to set the pace of the meal for your health, taste and enjoyment.

Drinks are not included in the price. We have a fully stocked bar, a wine cellar with a photo gallery, an excellent selection of designer and traditional cocktails, beers, fresh fruit shakes, soft drinks etc. Should you wish to bring your own wine, corkage fee is 1000 Baht per bottle.

The Gallery Restaurant is not suitable for some young children, however all children are welcome as long as they are taking part in Trust the Chef. Nobody of any age will be permitted to enter The Gallery Restaurant if they have not been granted an invitation for a reservation to Trust the Chef. Due to various concerns we do not permit babies or toddlers in The Gold Bar or The Gallery Restaurant, please make other arrangements before attempting to make a reservation.

Our music helps to create our vibrant atmosphere, it is very much part of The Gallery experience. If you prefer barely audible background music, then perhaps The Gallery Restaurant is not going to be for you. Every night is a celebration, please do not come to our home and ask us to turn the music down. We understand that we can't please everyone with taste and volume but this is how we choose to do it and we are catering to those who wish to immerse themselves in the entire experience of our lively and friendly venue.

You are most welcome to take photographs throughout the meal, but extensive mobile phone use is not permitted in The Gallery Restaurant. No laptops or tablets are allowed at all in The Gold Bar or The Gallery Restaurant, and we ask that you refrain from loud calls using the phone speaker.

We do not offer birthday cakes or put candles in our desserts. Many of our guests are celebrating when they come to The Gallery Restaurant and all of our guests are equally important, so we prefer to help you all celebrate together. It is not possible to request specific tables or seating areas, we designate tables according to several criteria in order to make everyone comfortable. Our tables seat a maximum of 4 people, larger groups will be split into separate tables, we will try to put them near eachother but this may not always be possible.

Reservations are essential, at least one full day in advance, subject to limited availability and allocated at our discretion. Due to extremely limited spaces, maximum 18 guests, please do not make an application for a reservation unless you are absolutely sure that you will be able to attend. Should you wish to cancel your reservation please do so at least 24 hours in advance. We are trying to avoid taking advance payments so if you wish to cancel on the day of your reservation we ask that you pay in full.

We do not operate a taxi service, although we will be happy to call one for you after dinner should you so wish. We accept cash, Thai prompt pay, we also accept VISA and Mastercard payments but we have to add a 5% bank charge for cards. We do not split bills.

Although many people like to dress up to dine with us, we are happy if you dress for comfort, within reason. Please respect Thai culture and your fellow guests; no bikinis or swimsuits, and no topless men or women.

Availability also depends on whether you have any special dietary requirements. The spice levels of each course are created by the Chef according to traditional tastes using original herbs and spices, some dishes are spicier than others, we cannot adjust the spice levels for individual tastes. Aside from spice please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we will try to accommodate you where possible.

If you are somehow offended by any of the above information, please know that that is not our intention. We are fully aware that we cannot please everyone. The Gallery Restaurant is also our home so we wish to welcome people with open hearts and minds to dine with us. We aim to provide as much clarity as possible so that each and every potential guest can make an informed decision on whether they wish to join us or not. If there is something that’s is not to your liking then please do not attempt to make an application for a reservation, instead allow us to allocate one of our 7 tables, or maximum 18 places, to those who genuinely wish to enjoy the evening with us.
